Dr Samuel Fosso Wamba is Full Professor at Toulouse Business School. Prior, He was Associate Professor at NEOMA Business School, France and Senior lecturer (with tenured) at the School of Information Systems & Technology (SISAT), University of Wollongong, Australia.

 

Dr Wamba successfully defended on September 2015 at 2:00 PM his Habilitation of Conducting Research (HDR in French) in Management Science (Section 6), Information Systems Major at the Telecom Business School, University of Evry at Essonne, France.. HDR is considered as the “highest academic qualification a scholar can achieve” in France. For this HDR, a synthesis of my research on RFID, the Internet of Things and Big Data was presented. The success of this HDR was made possible by a jury of outstanding professors including: Profs. CARINE DOMINGUEZ-PERY, CHRISTOPHE ELIE-DIT-COSAQUE, JESSIE PALLUD, AMMI CHANTAL, VISWANATH VENKATESH and IMED BOUGHZALA (my supervisor).

 

He earned his Ph.D. in industrial engineering (Major: Management of Innovation and Information Systems) for his work on RFID-enabled supply chain optimization, at the Polytechnic School of Montreal, Canada.

 

He also holds two Masters degrees: one MSc in mathematics, from the University of Sherbrooke in Canada and another MSc in electronic commerce (major: computer science) from HEC Montreal, Canada.
His current research focuses on business value of IT, inter-organisational system (e.g., RFID technology) adoption and use, supply chain management, electronic commerce, mobile commerce, Electronic Government, IT-enabled government transparency, Social media, Business Analytics, Big Data, Open Data, Internet of Things, Blockchain and Artificial Intelligence.

He won the best paper award of The Academy of Management Journal in 2017 and the papers of the year 2017 of The Electronic Markets: The International Journal on Networked Business. He is the Coordinator of the newly created Artificial Intelligence & Business Analytics Cluster of Toulouse Business School, France.
